With Jane Rivett-Carnac, we will delve into the topic of shipping and immigration to Australia from convicts to more recent arrivals. Looking at the records and other avenues such as, diaries, ships’ logs, newspaper reports, social histories, and maritime books can play a pivotal role in uncovering the stories of those who embarked on long, uncertain journeys to our shores. Where do you start, what can you find?
Jane Rivett-Carnac has been researching for more than forty years. She has been with the Narre Warren & District Family History Group since 2008 and is currently the president of the group.
